Principle

UV-C radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water and nonporous surfaces and has been used for combating various diseases for many years.
UV-C lamp effectively eliminates harmful microbes (including the SARS-CoV-2 virus) directly exposed to radiation by breaking down their DNA structures.

Backed by Science

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) breaks down certain chemical bonds and scrambles the structure of the organism, making it unable to reproduce within the host and no longer infectious.

Signify and Boston University validates the effectiveness of UV-C in inactivating 99% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus within 6 seconds.
